Identifying Trichocereus (I think

Hey All, so I recently found this large cactus (Aprox. 2m) in my local area and was hoping somebody could help me to Identify it accurately. My best guess would be a species of Trichocereus most likely Validus or peruvianus but I've never tried to identify cacti and could used all the help I can get especially the basics on what to look for not just when identifying Trichos but all cacti.

P.s. I have just bought my first ever lot of seed and a few little cutting and I'm pretty pumped to start growing and learning more about these awesome plants

How can you differentiate between cereus and Trichocereus Peruvianus??

The ridges between ribs on trichs are like hills while the ridges on cereus are like valleys. When I first started growing cacti this is how I remembered the difference.

Yeah, that's definitely not a trichocereus. I can differentiate them by the really skinny ribs that cereus have, trichs have really fat rounded ribs.
