Good to hear. I hate sellers who taint our hobby with their greed and try to rip us off. I got burned a few times when I was starting out so now I try to do what I can to help others get their hard earned monies worth. Really looking forward to seeing you garden update a year from now. I hope you did not pay 275 for that altman pach/huancoensis. That seller just finds cacti at nurseries an slaps on whatever name he likes adds super rare to the title and lists them for ridiculous prices. That is if you purchased them from e bay. There is nothing rare about his listings and they are no where near worth the prices he is asking.

Maybe you have a caffeine intolerance. It is uncommon but does happen. I know I have it. Anything more than one cup of black coffee and I feel like I did a couple of rails. So I rarely have a cup but when I do I enjoy the Hell out of it with a cig in the morning.

Drink some water. You need to rehydrate and let the caffeine work its way outta your system.

I have a few four winds going right now and none of them are etioliated. One is a clone similar to the 'melted wax' but distinct from it that goes from four to three ribs. Another is a semi monstrose not widely cultivated that goes from four to three ribs as well. Lastly I have a standard bridge that has just put out three four wind pups. I have considered selling them as I am sure someone will pay an exorbiant amount for them but I'd rather grow them out for future trades. Are there any links to the stable four winds? I'd like to see how it grows. Magical are you sure that is an ss02? I do not grow it myself but from what I have read and seen it usually has two spines per areole. Or maybe once the pup matures it will change to its distinctive growth?

I have yet to see a stable four winds that will consistently stay four ribbed. However they can grow four ribbed for the majority of time before adding/dropping ribs again. Best thing to do with them is to list on e bay for an absurd price and cash in. Great looking cacti mutant.

My advice is if you want to progress is to find someone,anyone, a doc,close friend, family member, etc, you can be open with to lift some of your burden. Humans evolved as social beings and grew in close knit communities. The idea of putting the individual before the whole is completely false and to my knowledge a modern invention. We need and thrive as a group small or large. Trust is hard to give and I can completely relate as I do not trust either but you will benefit if you are able to overcome this. I am not saying giving your complete faith in another just a minute portion. You also need more time sober before your brain chemistry stabilized. When it does you will have a clearer picture of what needs tinkering with in your mind. You can and should get your meds readjusted or changed though to help get you through this time. Since you are an adrenaline junkie you need conflict in your life. So in your job, if you can, take on challenging and rewarding work. That should help ease some tension. You need to accept your time is not your own and really who's is? We live our lives in service to ourselves and others. If you do nothing but self indulge in activities you deem worthy you end up stunting your personal growth. This is all just my opinion but I hope I helped in some way. Good luck.

The ridges between ribs on trichs are like hills while the ridges on cereus are like valleys. When I first started growing cacti this is how I remembered the difference.

I have the same thing happen to a few of my peres. I do not have any slugs in my garden anymore so I do not think that is the cause. It does not stall growth or harm the peres in any way so I do not think it is anything to worry about.

What is this need for people to be remembered after death? I have never understood the concept.

Some folks say selenicereus fruits are much more tastier than hylocereus. I have not tried them yet so I can not say for sure but it is on my list of cacti fruit to try.

Nutrient deficiency can cause some depression but i do not think it would be as bad as the way you are describing your symptoms. If you want to get off zoloft do not go cold turkey! Ssri withdrawls can be minor to extremely severe. To be safe slowly reduce your dose until you are completely off. But if you feel you need an anti depressant to keep baseline maybe you can switch to a snri. They are said to be less severe than ssri's but I have very little trust in the psychological field especially after the release of the dsm v.
