Cool find! especially in june.

Yeah it looks like a blue staining panaeolus (copelandia), but the usual habitat for those in NNSW is cow dung. Blue staining is a universal feature of active (magic) psilocybes, but does also occur in other mushrooms so its not a fool proof way to Id.

thankyou all very much.
the bamboo pile in under a shady bunch of camphor trees.
there might also be another aus native hardwood amongst the bamboo mix.
much appreciated. also .... this those two blue shrooms yielded black spore print.

also ... they were growing at the very top of the mulch pile.
again ... thanks heaps, &
Cheers!!

cane toads living in self-made cavesholes in the top of piles of bamboo chip mulch.

this is predominantly where hands of fruiting Panaeolus are found.
.... in and above where the cane toads like to reside.... up they come.

just thought that might be useful. thanks again ^_^

the toads just seem to make a place to sit in the wet mulch/chip/leaf mold.

I find tunnels dug into the top of the pile, inside which is always a cane toad looking back at me.

is the bufo toad with it's 5meodmt glands causing the mushrooms??
I also found cane toads under a fallen tree trunk out of which where were brown fly argic looking mushrooms.
just trying to join the dots.
Cheers! ;)
