pseudoephedrine and caffeine

Recommended Posts

Any ideas why pseudoephedrine would increase someone's tolerance to caffeine rather than the opposite? Central dopamine release?

Whether or not it is because they both release the same neurotransmitters, what comes to my mind is that you would be acclimatised to a stronger buzz with the pseudo and then having caffeine would seem weak.

I would wager it has something to do with the adrenal response...

Thanks brilliant_botanist.

I must say Responsible choice sounds like he knows his shit, I had to look up "adrenal response" and to me it actually seems to be pretty much what I was saying but in a more technical/ refined manner. I read (some of) the Wikipedia page 'Sympathetic nervous system'.
