magical9 Posted February 26, 2014 i recently recieved a 2ft+ juuls giant potted cactus. It was nice and firm when i first got it but after a few weeks ive noticed that the top 8" or so seem less firm. the plant does not look disfigured in anyway. it just seems smushy now and not firm like the rest of the body. is this normal? EthnoGuy85 Posted February 26, 2014 Yeah if it hasn't got roots it's prolly just slightly dehydrated.
magical9 Posted February 26, 2014 Yeah if it hasn't got roots it's prolly just slightly dehydrated. oh it has roots. fully rooted plant. ive only watered it once and that was 2 weeks ago. but iether case it sounds like its just dehydrated?
hostilis Posted February 26, 2014 If it was dehydrated it would just look kind of sucked up and be a bit soft. If it's rot it would probably have orange spots and it would be mushy.
EthnoGuy85 Posted February 26, 2014 As long as there is no discoloration you should be good. Dehydrated cacti generally do this so I wouldn't worry unless it gets squishy and translucent looking, then it's time I take action.
