Has anyone ever grafted to pereskia the original cactus?

Recommended Posts

Pereskia is a Cactaceae that is even more primitive to pereskiopsis. Pereskia is a genus of about 16 species of primitive cacti originating from Mexico to Brazil. They have leaves and are generally not considered succulent. They are deciduous shrubs, small trees, or even climbers.

These cacti grow even faster, more water/sun/abuse resistant than pereskiopsis and they flower like 100000 times more often even bearing edible fruit.
People avoid grafting to them because of their woody stems but i am very curious has anyone ever tried to graft anything to this ancient cactus?
I believe a very fresh and new shoot would be succulent enough for a seedling to grow on it and am currently looking for a pereskia.

Some species of it like p_bahiensis are hardcore hard

but some of them like
P. grandifolia can be quite succulent

They also flower a lot

I tied long time ago but it was too woody, so nothing took.

But if I get my hand on some cuttings I might try again.
