gwalchgwyn Posted December 9, 2013 (edited) Greetings All! Just a few thoughts for the season on the nature of mindculture & its affects on human activity after returning from my local grocery store. < we all know by now in this Age of Information of the symbolic consumption by the Judeo-Christian paradigm of the "christmas" tree origin in Earthfolk's celebration of the evergreen's comfort during short cold boreal days of a return cycle to warming spring > In the plant section of the grocery store I saw three items of note: 1. real columnar cacti that had brightly colored paper "flowers" glued to the top! 2. real Phalaenopsis orchids with flowers that had been airbrushed blue! 3. beautiful cuttings of a variety of Chamaecyparis lawsoniana (Port Orford Cedar), a tree that grows on the Pacific Northwest of North America - I gather also that there are some stands of it in New Zealand - with the label: European Tree !! Merry Phony European Christmas! Edited December 9, 2013 by gwalchgwyn
