strange fungus

Question

i thought some of you mycophiles might like to see these pics i took this morning. i have never seen a mushroom grow around plants like this

A picture of its underside would be helpful. Does it have pores or teeth?

By the way, it's not uncommon for polypores and other slow-growing fungi to grow around plants like that.
