Torsten Posted January 27, 2003 Posted by rkundalini on March 18, 2000 at 05:06:12: Hi Torsten, fantastic job, the world needs more people like you. My $0.02: I would like to see a "what's new" section, you seem to add a lot of stuff (yay!) but it can be hard to keep track of.
Torsten Posted January 27, 2003 Posted by ashley on March 19, 2000 at 08:52:23: I've thought about posting the same sentiments myself. (Inlcluding the "fantastic job".. indeed!) "What's new" and "What's coming".. looking good. ashley
Torsten Posted January 27, 2003 Posted by Shaman Australis on March 19, 2000 at 12:18:41: Thanx for the compliments guys - it's what keeps me working those late hours putting up more stuff on the site :-) I think it's great idea. I have been trying to mark new things with those dicky 'NEW' gifs. These should be updated roughly once a month, so that is a good guide. It doesn't help with adding new items to an already fully described species though, and I've been trying to think of a way to solve that problem. the 'New stuff' section is a really great idea to solve exactly this problem and should be implemented as soon as get it together ;-)
Torsten Posted January 27, 2003 Posted by Pigdog on March 21, 2000 at 03:26:28: I don't think it's really so important to have a "whats New" section myself Only cos (a) it's more work for you, and ( Most of us already know what we are looking for when we come to the site. I don't think there're many people who end up at the site by accident I think the time could be better spent compiling and updating info for the plants, cactii that don't currently have info pages, as tedious as that would prolly be That's just my opinion though. Torsten Posted January 27, 2003 Posted by ashley on March 21, 2000 at 07:28:45: A "What's New" would let us know if one of these pages has recently been created/altered or decked with new knowledge. A page you can check, with short entries, ie - "March 25, Added botanical info for _Trichocereus Pachanoi_" would be useful for us curious ones, no? I know what I'm looking for when I visit (sometimes novelty), my scope is wide, and I enjoy wandering. ashley
