what did you do in nature today?

Recommended Posts

following the threads in the cacti and plant forum...

sundays, I often go for an excursion.

today, I stayed close to home, but it was still very event full.

I decided, to go fishing and setting red claw traps in the local dam. :)

decided, to drive a 4 wheel drive track, with my non 4 wheel drive car, and got bagged in a sand trap right at the beginning. :BANGHEAD2: placed twigs and branches of a fallen tree, underneath the tiers, but made only little progress. walked to a friends house close by, and they snatched me out of the sand. :worship:

good ozzie adventure, right from the word start. :excl:

fishing turned out a waste of time, but I managed to set the traps, with hopefully, no body watching me (the bastards steal your traps plus contents) .

now the highlight, I tried another spot for fishing, and noticed a pair of small king fishers, flying in and out of there nesting hole, catching aquatic food!! :uzi:

took some samples of the alluvial of this creek, in hope to find some gold.

life is good!

That's rad :) Yr living the dream ph!

Today I went out into the wilderness collected some sticks, dragged them back, made a fire and cooked some kangaroo kebabs with a couple coldies. The weather was divine, the sky was epic and the currawongs were singing. Life was good today.

Great idea for a thread man.

On Sunday morning set up to spy on what's stalking the camp in the wee hours, expecting a fox .

Found out it's a very young kelpie and a tiny silky terrier, I'm tempting them to visit me more often ,

Great thread PH

I sat for hours listening to the Yellow-bellied Gliders foraging in the moonlight tonight. I have not seen or heard them in about 18 months, They moved elsewhere after a big wildfire last Spring. So happy that they have returned.. Love em..

Only been up for a few hours but already dodged 12 or so red bellies on my morning walk. Their still pretty dopey, but then again they never slept round here this winter, they were out during sub season :-/
