Trichocereus shaferi monstrose

Recommended Posts

A single crest was formed by the original monstrose mother plant at Oasis.

This image was taken in 2002 when visiting the nursery.

My monstrose column from Sacred Succulents began to crest a few years ago, recently becoming top heavy and snapping.

On the upside I've now got three plants and two grafts. I never would have cut into it if it hadn't self selected.

I think most monstroses form crests eventually. That one is much nicer than Kermit's. (Kermit & Shirley are the owners of Oasis)

Oasis sold off all of their clone except for that one crest so never got to see more crests.
