NZ Salvia Divinorum porn

I did manual pollination on mine and had no luck with fertilisation. Next season I'll have some cement at the ready.

Yeah I'm going to try the cement on mine if they reach maturity. I see no reason not to try :)

All mine that flowered were in the ground with decent soil so I never bothered with ferts lol

But something with good levels of potassium is what I assume is best?

Looking at nutrient deficiencies, attached link might be useful - http://5e.plantphys.net/article.php?id=289

I reckon with tender plants worm juice or nitrosol would do it - they don't burn anything. Only about 10% solution though to avoid leafburn. Having said this, your plants look pretty darned good N

I'm in the UK where we can grow S. D. freely. :-)

according to my own findings, foreign pollen, is not a big factor, regarding fruit set.
salvia, does produce seeds, if very happy, something only growers in aquatorial highlands have achived, so far to my knowledge.

our common hofmann wasson clone, can set seed by self pollinating.
imagen, this plant was realy handled once, by the great a. hofmann.:)

It's really cool to hear about the needs for seed production, though I'm not sure if I'll be able to immitate that indoors :-S All I heard it flowering is short day triggered ~12 hour periods and very sensitive about reverting if there are any 12+ hour days once in flowering (which I think I'd be able to avoid) I've not been able to find much before about what is actually needed to produce seeds, let alone germinate them.

The cut known as Wasson-Hoffman was actually collected by Bunnell though wasn't it? It'd be nice to think Hoffman had been involved, W&H were looking in 1962 (same year as Bunnell) but I read it was Bunnell who collected the plant we call Wasson-Hoffman. Though they spent ages looking, it must have been an amazing journey with the Mazatec.

I've heard that seed viability in self pollinated salvia isn't great? I think my Salvia is Wasson-Hoffman/Bunnell, because most plants are and it had the really strong taste the one time when I made tea, I've not made salvia tea again, partly because I want it to grow more (I had some problems with getting the right conditions for it) and partly because the taste is still very vivid in my mind :-/ it was pretty bitter lol

it's always in a clear plastic box to keep up it's humidity, it browns and drops leaves like crazy otherwise :-(

At the moment I'm in the process of obtaining (I hope) a Blosser (or "Palatable") clone, I thought potentially less related populations = more chance of viability, even if not, I like the idea of having more variation, and trying a different taste :-)
