If it was me, I'd plant as a whole and take cuttings after a season. For no other reason than to enjoy their full form for a few months and observe the growth habits/patterns before propagating.

Beautiful plants, enjoy them :)

Pretty much your choice bromo-fantasy, if you want more plants then obviously split them up and pot them individually but if you want larger/more mature looking specimens straight away keep them as is.

If your cuts are too small then your new growth will be small and thin which is not as good as the solid growth of a bigger cut. You may get more shoots from multiple cuts but they'll be pathetic little shoots that never really thicken up any way. I reckon cutting them too small is a real setback for a cactus cuts.

As others have said, it's really up to you.

Personally? Since it's unrooted, I would let the TBM root and recover before messing with it any more. After 3-6 months I'd break the two side pups off and root those separately. Eileen I'd take a cutting from the base ~4-6" long and root that as well from the get go. But horses for courses.

just though i should add the TBM has four pups (hidden behind main coloum) 3 the same size.

i was thinking about cutting the eileen, replanting a 6inch tip and the rest on her side? unsure really .

@endorfinder i think i will take your advice on the TBM and leave it to settle in for a while..

i also have a juuls giant and bridgesii which i shall keep as a hole
