basalamant Posted July 16, 2012 Hi. I was at Springbrook (Purlingbrook Falls track) and found some species of fungi I would really like anyone here to identify for me. Please let me know I would really like it. Thanks! PS. I can't upload my photos to this forum so the best i can do is give a photobucket link. http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x377/basalamant/DSC_0196.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x377/basalamant/DSC_0198.jpg
obtuse Posted July 16, 2012 They are both polypores, with the second looking like a Ganoderma resinaceum The first looks a little like Australoporus tasmanicus to me, but as i severely doubt that what you have photographed is growing on Nothofagus, im fairly positive its not, Having said that, it may well be Stereum rugosum, but it looks a little thick. Anyway something to go on, Cheers, Obtuse.
