The Real Reason Why They Repeat the Same 20 Songs on the Radio & TV Nationwide

Recommended Posts

the people are the problem, not the company execs (yes they push their agenda etc. but they have a right to, i would)

it's not hard, especially with the internet, these days to break the cycle of mass media controlled information, but people don't want to,

they're quite happy to sit in the dark and be fed bullshit, day after day, week after week,

fuck em.

if you're a mushroom and you know it clap your hands......

i think it is as simple as that.

channel 7 news if frequently the highest rating show on australian tv (last week it was number 2)

ACA/TT frequently rate very high (no data but you can can check)

it's not as though theirs a dearth of alternative news sources out there, yet we have the majority of australians tuning into to "inform" themselves using right wing propaganda (and in the case of ACA/TT often outright lies).

fuck them.

mushrooms.

"Shooby dooby doo wop, it's all around you, shooby dooby doo wop, the music that surrounds you"

I mostly agree with qualia: these corporations are just giving people what they want.

It's like a church: the pastor tells people what they want to hear because if he didn't they would go somewhere else.

The people and their leaders are equally to blame.

we live in a society that encourages conformity, acceptance of conformity, acceptance of popular culture, being told what to think and how to act... living in such a society has profound effects, especially over the long term. people are born into a society where they are bombarded with advertising and popular culture from an extremely young age, they grow up in this environment where they are encouraged to fit in, and if they dont they get singled out, anything that deviates from the norm is wrong and bad. they are taught from a young age to fit in and not to think, taught through behaviouralism and through fear. of course this will have profound effects on malleable minds.

remember that the situation we are in now didn't will itself into existence, rather it evolved over time, slowly. as older generations die and newer generations grow, more and more of this conditioning is injected into popular culture, to the point where something considered pornographic and/or not suitable for tv a few decades ago is now abundant on popular music video shows viewed by all ages to the point where 9 out of 10 songs you here on a popular radio station mention such key words/ideas as clubs/clubbing, alcohol/drinking/getting or being drunk or wasted etc, worshiping the dj and or music, living for the music and dancing at clubs whilst drunk, being sexy, being promiscuous, the list goes on, it's all the same... all of it encourages lack of thought, or cognitive suppression.

dont think, just enjoy life cause life is fun cause we said it is, work 40+hrs a week, drink on weekends, live your life in debt, produce offspring to perpetuate the cycle, die.

i can sense you want people to feel like

post-4664-0-48992100-1337784963_thumb.jp

man i feel ya but the way i see it a huge section of this particular generation are too heated up about populist culture norms and mores

(i too am quite ambivalent to many tech devices)

to maybe think this........if people don't listen to the popular radio stations or tune into the wackedout tv programming or adhere to celebrity bullshit guidelines....then hopefully the machine itself will start to get worried..........just don't look at or listen to it and it will lose it's way in the forest and be lost forever is my mantra. nothing ever happens if people just swallow the corporation jism and don't think twice about the taste

the australian population are doing a good job at not looking at or listening to the australian soldiers at war in the middle east, still going strong...

denying something's existence doesn't stop it from existing, it is better to raise awareness.`

i admit i haven't been paying attention to what ex service men/women have been saying, have they been saying it was a massive waste of lives/time/money? or are they towing the company line?

also i thought a significant (if not a majority) of australians thought that the occupation should end*?

*side note, the occupation will continue well beyond the so called withdrawal date next year, not sure who they're trying to fool with that posturing

Same as it's always been. Culture is just a reflection of ourselves. People create culture, then culture creates people, in an endless cycle.

For instance: the reason those music videos mention clubbing and drinking or getting wasted? That's what heaps of people do! So they sing songs about it, make videos about it and watch those videos.

The vast majority of people are not deep thinkers, and never will be. It's no use trying to use rational arguments to convince irrational people, and there's no use trying to promote thinking to people who hate being left alone with their own thoughts.

I'm glad the people are distracted. I'm afraid of the inner desires of most and i'd be terrified if millions of humans woke up to those desires and realise there's not actually anything that stops them from acting on them.

As long as a carrot is dangled in front of the general populations face whilst they wear blinkers i'm free to do as i please without anybody noticing.

Seriously... to those that have their eyes open this age is a blessing.

edit: I mean... it's a lot more complicated than that but still.

Once you denounce the pursuit of happiness other roads open up.

If you truly wanted to be happy you'd remove all complications and all choices, remove all responsibility for your actions.

Fuck that.

I'd rather feel depressed because I feel it rather than feel happy because someone told me to.
