bush chilli?

Recommended Posts

hey,

Saw a program the other week, people in the outback, and to cook, they used a bush chilli.

Supposed to be quite hot, and by the looks of it, small fruits.

I've looked for the species via search engine, but just come up with recipes.

Has anyone heard of the bush chilli?

Do they look anything like this:

Tepin

Pequin

I always thought both tepin and pequin would go wild if they got in the bush (they are some of the wild varieties of C. annuum that tend to grow quite well in those conditions).

I'm not sure what species the program used, but I'm currently growing the Christmas Island wild chilli, from seeds I collected there a couple of years ago. Extremely unlikely they are the same, however I needed to post something on the forum after the crash to test things out.

They didn't show the chilli up close, but from a distance they did look similar to Pequin.

Hopefully the show will be repeated, but then again i have to remember what show it was.

thanks for the help Auxin and SL

Some Australian native Russula mushrooms have a chilli-like taste - but some are poisonous
