possible Tricho and unusual succulent id please

Question

Have picked these up over the last couple weeks, not sure on either but both are nice looking plants I am really like the blue column cacti at the moment. And this is a pretty unusual succulent, at least in my parts, really striking red colour. The flower stalk was strange didn't really produce a flower as such more of a "reed spike" type thing.

I guess the cacti is most likely Azureocereus hertlingianus. But curious still on the succulent.
