Anyone here on a 12month tourist visa and attempted to extend it?

A friend is trying to decide if its worth risking losing $300 to extend a 12 month tourist visa.

Any info by people that have done it, regardless of if it was successful or not would be appreciated. Or anyone who knows much about it.

Tourist or working holiday?

If its working holiday i know that you need to have worked rural for some time.

My mate just went to NZ for a few months so he could reapply from there. Its been 19 years since i did mine so i aint much help, sorry.
