CβL Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) I reckon that just-posted T. cuzcoensis is a T. chiloensis centipede. But anyway, farking mint! I really like that Blenheim peruvianus. The next step is for us to start crossing these together. Then we'll have some really envious plants. :D Edited October 28, 2011 by βluntmuffin

Yar that should be sweet, sadly I've only had flowers on pachanoi so far
CβL Posted October 28, 2011 I had one set of Peruvianus flowers - but I didn't pollinate properly, so no seed was set. But I'm getting a camelhair brush or so on Sunday, and gonna practice with Mammillaria (which I've had flowers for 6 months constantly now hahaha). So hopefully by the time I get Martin's Peruvianus to flower, I will be practiced enough to be able to cross it with something.
bogfrog Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) hells yeah cant wait to do our own crosses! may be a few years down the track but it will be good fun for sure edit: just notice the Kool Keith pach! good on ya mate Edited October 28, 2011 by bogfrog

I wasn't allowed to bid any higher on it Is trademe user 'warmapplepie' on this forum? Haha I wondered why you stopped bidding at that price.. Shoulda told ya missus you could make the money back selling seedlings Def skeptical about the ID on that one tho.. Don't think applepie is a member, I believe they are West Coast and I don't think we have anyone from out that way. Would love to be proven wrong. Maybe someone that's bought from them before could invite them? You have some fucking gorgeous plants centipede! I only know of one person and one nursery who have grown those species. Gotta love them fatties.

It's definitely not pure bridgesii, but it's still an nice looker, and with a bit of luck (and maybe some bap) maybe I can get a 9-point plant growing from the stump
CβL Posted December 11, 2011 (edited) Trichocereus sp. 'CC Cuzcoensis' My Trichocereus Peruvianus 'Martin' plant. Trichocereus Pachanoi clone. Perhaps it has some peruvianus genes, as there are medium length centrals in a vertical line. I saw an old thread where zee_werp (a NZ member) post a picture of what is almost certainly the exact same plant, as a macrogonus: http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9264 This particular plant came from a guy in Auckland who's had it for at least a decade. It's definitely more pachanoi than it would be macrogonus though (by at least 75%). There's another (mildly out of focus) shot in the album. Trichocereus sp. 'CC Bridgesii' Trichocereus peruvianus - MB clone My clone of Peruvianus. This one is also being pushed to flowering, so has not got much glaucous bloom as a result. bℓσωηG Posted December 25, 2011 (edited) How difficult is it to import living cacti into New Zealand ?? Would it be as much of a stuff around as importing to Australia or not as difficult ? Does Coromandel Cacti import live cuttings or only seed from overseas? Edited December 25, 2011 by bℓσωηG
bit Posted December 25, 2011 heres a tersh and werdermaniuanus from you Quentin happy as Heya, do you have an ID for the cutting bottom left? Does it flower with huge white flowers with purple/pinky shells like this? I've been calling mine Spachanius based on a single similar pic found on the net: http://www.cactus-art.biz/schede/TRICHOCEREUS/Trichocereus_spachianus/Trichocereus_spachianus/Trichocereus_spachianus.htm

Does Coromandel Cacti import live cuttings or only seed from overseas? I would say it's almost as difficult as importing to Australia, they have to stay in a quarrantine nursery for 3 months or something http://www.biosecuri.../plants/nursery Edited December 25, 2011 by centipede
bℓσωηG Posted December 26, 2011 Yeah i looked at their website centipede and it says plants have to be actively growing whilst in quarantine for three months, or longer if slow growing . Of course any cacti cuttings will NOT be actively growing so this could make quarantining excessively expensive , what a shame
