vual Posted April 9, 2011 My Rivea corymbosa (Sorry about title of thread, originaly this was a ID thread save making a new post i just added to it, the life cycle of my plant) is flowering, im so exited, I grew it from seed only about 20months ago and its flowering already, I am rather happy about that Is that normal? IF i remember correctly they are ment to take years to flower? Here are some pic's: From this a year or so ago... http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/uploads_gallery/1301368879/med_gallery_6737_328_360279.jpg To This today... Another one i planted at the same time from seed, didnt quite take off..... (EDIT: This is a seedling i planted at the same time, both were raised in posts this one just seemed to not grow..) Any idea's why 1 grows fantastically and the other just dwarfed? They were practically in the same environments until 1 year ago, the dwarf one has growth around the base that looks like cactus pups 0_o I am postivie its Rivea corymbosa but maybe it was Argyreia nervosa anyway to tell other then waiting for flowers? What organic fertilizer can i give it to help flower / fruit , etc? Used coffee grounds? The QLD weather must of been perfect conditions lately, all i have done is give it a heavy dose of cow poo every now and then. -Vual
vual Posted April 9, 2011 To answer my own question, the ideal thing to give it now would be potash/potato skins and banana skins for the potassium?
Heffa Posted April 9, 2011 The bottom picture is a HBWR while the top is a rivea, in my experience with hbwr, they seem to just stop growing all together if they stay in a small pot, so they need regular pot changes. My oldest hbwr in a small pot is around a year old and looks almost exactly the same as yours. If you had planted out the woodrose around the time of your rivea, they maybe around the same size, the rivea slightly more dense maybe. Thanks for the photos
vual Posted April 9, 2011 (edited) Thanks heffa check PM to in regards to our talks before i went MIA >< I will be applying Human urine diluted with water to it , apparently phosphorus is the best thing one can give to a plant about to go into bloom Its going to be interesting. vual Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) Yeah is this HBWR or Ololuiqui? They are two different genera! Just read the thread and you will see, unfortuantly the title cant be changed when this was posted. But as you can see its "Rivea corymbosa". (and that is known as Ololuiqui.) the BHWR in the bottom pic is still the exact same size.. its a permanent part of my bonsi collection >< Thanks, v Edited September 7, 2011 by vual
