herbal_hindsight Posted March 19, 2011 A friend found these in her veggie patch and asked me if i knew what they were... they look very similiar to field mushies to me but not quite as well... any ideas? Edibility?

NSF Posted March 20, 2011 If you break one of those medium sized ones and smell it what's it smell like? Do they stain yellow if you scratch or bruise the cap? The boxiness of the young ones makes me think of the annoying Agaricus Xanthodermus but that's only if it smells a bit of detol and bruises yellow.
Blueflowers Posted March 21, 2011 The Agaricus Xanthodermus gills will tend to be a darkish brown red , im also pointing towards it being an almond mushroom (Agaricus subrufescens) though i am not entirely sure
