brown rice tek?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know a brown rice tek that can grow cubensis and cyanescens? Back in the old days there used to be a brown rice tek at the shroomery using plain old brown rice. If anyone can remember this tek or knows a good brown rice tek, please let me know. Thanks.

Start by pissing off BRF - which is the crappest substrate medium on the planet.

Millet apparently has higher tryptophan precursors and tends to yield FAR more potent fruit. The basic 'tek' for that was pretty simple - 1/2 3 or 4 grade vermiculite mixed with 40% millet seeds and maybe 10% BRF to stick the cakes together. Rye tends to contaminate easier than other mediums.

Meanies are a whole different kettle of fish. You'll probably need to sector on agar, then you'll definately need some shit in the mix and some casing to fruit them. They'll need steady heat and humidity and if a drop of water lands on their pins they will abort. Use Coco Coir (sp?) mixed with verm for casing as it resists contams far more than other mixtures. Fruit on a bed of perlite in a large tub with glad wrap over the top. use an aquarium heater for required heat. No heat no meanies.

In the old days - way back when it was Uma Guma and a few others doing the teks (probably evne before Annos time) it was a given that millet was the best - just an accepted fact. then all these dead shits came along and doubted this and that. There are ofcourse studies that indicate (dont prove) that millet was one of the highest tryptophan containing substrates used.

I bet they are all back there re-inventing the wheel but in the old days when these teks were being made millet was the shit.
