∂an Posted March 10, 2011 (edited) here is some fungi fotos from a recent trip to tasmania (working on the ID's). this island is a fungi paradise, my camera battery ran out before I saw the huge mushroom 'gardens' along the south coast track... literally hundreds of 15cm+ fruits scattered in close proximity. all photos are from the south coast track, which is between cockle beach and melaleuca. had my eye out for subs, but didn't find any... all help ID'ing is welcome! (massive bolete, cap was about 30cm across) (purple mushroom in a tree hollow) Edited March 10, 2011 by kalika
NSF Posted March 10, 2011 That massive bolete I suspect is Phlebopus marginatus...I don't know if you were looking for IDs or were just wanting to share your awesome shots, but thanks for sharing them.

tripsis Posted March 10, 2011 The first looks like it could be a Pleurotus species, but it's hard to tell from the photo. Was it growing laterally or eccentrically? The second could be an Agaricus species. The third a Pholiota species. It did have gills, right? The second last an Armillaria species.
