What are these Seeds?

Question

Hi Guys, i got these from a friend and i dont know what they are. Any Ideas? I already had two germinations in my test container so the viability is great. They kinda look like Dictyoloma but somehow they are diffrent. Bigger and more greyish. bye Eg

Irie EG,

Did I send you them????

Anyway they are looking like some seeds I collected last year from tabebuia caraiba in Tortola.

Maybe??

Respect,

Z

lol Irie Zaka, no they came from an ethnobotanical wholesaler and i got a pretty big bag of them. No Idea what they are so i am totally open for suggestions. Never saw Tabebuia Caraiba but it might be possible. Do you have any seeds at home that you could make a photo of?

Irie,

Ya lucky!

Found a few of the center bone from the inside of the pods, with a few seeds hanging on there!

I think I had id this tree as Tabebuia Serratifolia.

Might as well plant them!

Respect,

Z

I'm pretty sure that is a coin. Germination rates are very low but you could end up with a money tree.

Awesome. :drool2: I put it in my moneybag and hope that small babynotes will show up soon.

Thanks for the ID, Zaka. Any ideas about how long the seed will keep its viability?

No unfortunately thats all i got, tarenna. But the seedlings look kinda unique so im positive one of you pros can find it out. The seeds look a lot like Tecoma sp. but somehow the shape is a little bit diffrent. At least thats how it appears to me. Or its just wishful thinking because i would love them to be some kind of tabebuia sp. They came from a guy who has great ethnobotanicals only so im sure they have to have some kind of ethnobotanical value.

Irie EG,

Nice to see they are viable!

HHMMMM? I wonder?? I did send a bunch off to FLA based Ebot supplier???

Anyway, I'll up-date if & when mine sprout!

Respect,

Z

BTW after some consultation with EG we've sussed that they are probably Spathodea campanulata??
