Hence the name. where are all the seeds hide?? where are the seed pod ? They often don't produce any seed for the first few weeks or months. Too much fertiliser or water will also reduce seed set. Once the capsules form you will recognise them.

Benzito Posted April 26, 2005 The seed pods actually seem to form where a flower was growing. So, just wait for a flower to die off and then watch that spot for a few weeks. A small point will start to form out of where the flower had been before, and will over about a month turn into a seedpod. But it starts to flower around the start of summertime and goes to seed in Autumn, so be patient.
Amulte Posted April 26, 2005 i have a related question... Does is pollenation required for seed production? also, are there if any differences between male and female? i only got the one sprout from shear luck i saved it so does it need a partner to make seeds? Peace
Benzito Posted April 26, 2005 I don't know Amulte, but I can tell you that your one plant should still give you about 100 flowers over it's life-cycle. So, if it can self-pollenate, it'll be fine!
Happy Cadaver Posted April 26, 2005 One plant will be fine for producing a truck load of seed, they are self-pollinating. They will cross-pollinate. insects will help in successful pollination.
