Zen Peddler Posted August 7, 2010 If youve got high blood pressure or anxiety forget the ginseng and use ashwagandha. Why? As well as being a sympathetic stimulant, ginseng also stimulates Alpha 2 receptors causing a decrease in peripheral vascular resistance. And besides, high blood pressure is often caused by mechanism other than simple sympathetic excess either from alpha 1 activity or increased sympathetic drive. In mnay cases increases in pure sympathetic drive result in paradoxical descreases in central vasoconstriction through the action of beta 2 receptors. Zen Peddler Posted August 10, 2010 Having a stronger immune system isnt necessarily a good thing. Most of the symptoms you experiecne with most flus, colds, and viruses are inate immune mediated usually rather than caused by the virus itself. People with autoimmune diseases tend to have overzealous responses to most infections which create more severe symptoms and ongoing fatigue as well as imbalances in t1 and t2 immune cell responses.
