Heffa Posted May 17, 2010 Looks heaps like Acacia auriculiformis, i have one of those trees right outside my house. I'm no expert though
volcanicplug Posted May 17, 2010 hi, pretty sure they are Acacia disparrima or aulacocarpa... both species were once treated as a single taxon... apparently the veins on the pods are less prominently raised in disparrima... these species are common around the gold coast and sunshine coast areas from dry woodland and wet forests to margins of rainforest... can grow into quite large trees... hope this helps
ferret Posted May 17, 2010 also the pods of disparrima have a distict pleasant smell kind of perfume/incense. i would be inclined to think that it is disparrima but i've never seen aulacocarpa to compare.. heffa auriculiformis pods are fairly different looking, a lot thinner, and wavy edged. Heffa Posted May 17, 2010 I mainly based my opinion on the colour of the flowers and general shape of the pods. The flowers have that deeper, dirtier yellow colour - almost orange but on closer observation of the auriculiformis i can see the definite comparison of the seedpods sorry about that, but like i said, i'm no expert.
