My mistake horse. I misread and assumed you meant viridis leaf cuttings.

Edit to remove a promise which I broke immediately

dang do why no notifications tell me you guys posted ? , please excuse my laggy reply me olde china's ..

and :devil::innocent_n:

sorry but cant help self so: *clears throat* now there you go confusing rubiacea for malpiggywiggies :3 !

*giggle*

i just plonked it in the magick waterfall/aeroponic pod that i call "Paqarina" to see if it would ..

- I'll bet it'd do it even faster now I'm using moss in there

but it's real busy at the mo' with viridis/baddass viridis strains, calea zacatechichi , psychotria nervosa, caapi stem cuttings ...and trying to germinate virola surinamensis nutz that arrived 13 or so hours ago ...

...and hopefully will also root me some nice diplopterys cabroney jibbroney lif i get a chance at it later this year...

checkout this album (out of my many) for the aeropod's history

Did this work for you?

i am Torn between  my own sort or aeroponics...'fog ponics'

Aeroponics, And a couple others things

like putting it into a disinfected jar with moist sterile perlite after disinfecting .

or, cutting a few sections and making some home made micropropagation medium,

dinisfedting the leaf, cutting a few sections and trying that.

the thing is, I only have one leaf!

so, it's not like I have too many chances.

I did see a poctuee with the leaf, did you actually manage to root D. Cabrerana,

and how did it go?

will post a picture  of the leaf later, for ID .

let me know any thoughts in this.

thanks!

I havent had chali yet but have a friend who managed to root cuttings in tropical usa ,

i shd probably drop him a line and see how it went

i think he managed it the regular way for caapi cuttings

however , at the top of this page ~(if it doesnt make a next page with this post) there's an example of rooting a caapi leaf with that method and I've heard that chali can root from leaves like viridis - anyhoo this aeroponics thing is a sure fire way to root leaves and better than anything i ever read or heard of and is reliable enough in my experience to guarantee the least likelihood of failure and i think a leaf of that calibur should get the big guns so as to speak personally ...

whatever you do end up doing ,.. let us know how it goes eh?

and i think the fog idea sounds amazing , never tried it but will jump at it if i get the chance it just seems to need softer water than I can supply and distilled water is like 75p per 500ml over here in uk so i only get it for one off things like acacias ... if a chali came my way I'd defo go with the aeroponic tried and tested method until i had enough to experiment with fog.. but then , like i say I havenet actually witnessed the fog experience so maybe I'd say different if I had experienced it's efficacy

The fog is very excellent....aeroponics as well.

could you please check with your USA friend

and see if any plants or leaves that might be propagated are available?

this plant has to exist, I mean, I think I have an actual leaf......

how can it be so elusive?

No one has ever propagated this plant, that I have spoken with....

very rarely does anyone have one, if ever......

i think if it was available, many would want it for their ethno garden plant collections .

and of course, can I get plants leaves stems a photo anything....

this plant is real, I have heard....

Now I supposedly have some live rooted cuttings lined up

from an obscure source.

if course thise were delayed in being sent.

it is amazing how , as someone once said several years ago....

this plant is always just around the next bend in the road.....always!

Do you think that there would be a market for d Cabrerana as herbarium specimen or collectible plant

if it was obtained and propagated?

it grows slowly, everyone seems to be looking for this plant and never find it....
