drugo Posted July 31, 2009 (edited) what yas reckon?http://www.whowillsurvive2012.com/ I hope they represent a kind of creation out of destruction, not simply the latter. I hope 3/4 through the film with the world under complete material disintegration that suddenly local communities will start forming and embracing entheogenic practices for divination. From this point, the strong human spirits charge on into the cosmic drama whilst the weaker spirits are left to burn in an eternity of hell fire. ................................................ A little Cultural Burp Warner Brothers, Colombia etc are overweight companies growing fat of the shallow beliefs and values of the popular western mindset. They mirror many of the corrupting aspects of what i think is a highly questionable paradigm. In turn, this creates and holds a firm and vicious cycle of giving the audience what they want and reproducing, or re-installing, the reality of these 'wants' in the culture. Ask anyone in these type of commercialised industries and they'll tell you how hard it is to penetrate this death cycle. Having said that, if the film pays respects to the Mayan civilisation, including some of the basic principles of their astrological and cosmological calendar it may send heaps of docile pop culture minds to do some productive research into alternative world views. ............................................... As Einstein said 'I don't worry about the future too much, it comes soon enough'. Edited July 31, 2009 by mooksha

Zen Peddler Posted August 18, 2009 The mayan cultures were good at war fighting and building temples and playing ball games, but I dont give the claims about their calender any more credence than Id give the rainbow serpant myth as being geographically accurate, You know what was a good movie? District 9 - heaps better than i expected

KanJe Posted August 20, 2009 (edited) I'm afraid when dec 2012 comes along that this movie will have fictionalised the concept making it 'movie fantasy' rather than truth. On the the other hand film is an effective medium for mass communication in western societies. Who knows whether the seeds planted here will have a positive or negative outcome. Edit: District 9 was amazing IMO. Best sci-fi to come out in a long while. Edited August 20, 2009 by KanJe

hutch Posted August 22, 2009 Due for release Dec 21st, 2012? Watched a very interesting doco yesterday re end of the world on that date. It spooks the hell out of me because it all make so much sense. It's the cycle and it's come around again. The sun will rise in line with the belly button of the universe as it does every 17 thousand years. Lucky we have front row seats I suppose. I'll be bunkered down on my little farm with all my plants. Hutch
hutch Posted August 22, 2009 I have a prety new doc of Nostradamus 2012 thats actully prety good.Just ask and i'll send ya a 1linker ;) I saw it yesterday but would love to see it again so I would like your linky thing please. If you look closely at Nostradamus, the Mayan calendar and it's people, and the history of the Freemason's all makes for one interesting story. Real or imagined I don't know but bloody interesting none the same. Hutch

LOL ~Michael~ Interesting articles there. Thanks for posting. The Movie does look pretty shit though, judging from the previews. Just a doom and gloom blockbuster to scare people. I admittedly like the idea of some sort of world transformation for the better, but I'm not really convinced of that either. Oh, and District 9 ROCKS! kindness Posted August 24, 2009 I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to the whole 2012 thing... but from what I've read, (and that ain't much!) isn't it to do with the 'resetting' or ending of the mayan calendar? If so, wouldn't it have about as much relevance as us throwing out last years calender and getting the next one? Perhaps there will be shifts in consciousness around that time.. to do with, well, fuck knows what... but I believe they are happening all the time. For instance cast your mind back 100 years ago... If I said I could communicate with a few hundred people without even talking to them from via a lit up screen type thing in my house and that alot of other people would have them too... hmmmm I'd probably have been shoooftied off to the nut house. just a few more random thoughts.
