Hey San P, the one you call long spine pachanoi could very well be the plant we call yowie over here in oz...I'd love to see it again in summer once it has grown out more but those twin spines that face down out of the areoles are very distinctly yowie...I'll chase up a link and find some more pics for you.

I like the stone ornament the best... :)

H.

EDIT...here is a link on the discussion of yowie>>> http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/inde...13&hl=yowie

Yeh im sure what we call yowie is a reasonably common plant in NZ. I think i remember bit posting about it a while ago and would most likely have some larger specimens.

Hey San P, unless he has two massive longspine plants, he's sent you pics of the short spine one.

This is the parent longspine plant:

http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/inde...showtopic=15235

Also, see the sliver of plant in the first pic? That's now a 25cm pup (albeit a bit skinny) hehehe. Extremely hardy and fast growing plant.

Here's a pic I took of one on my cuttings last weekend - note how vigourously it has pupped! And also don't look past the pup half way up!

San P.... I don't see a single T Bridgesii in your second series of photos, I do however see a nice T Peruvians tip and a standard PC Pachanoi...oh the TBM is a bridgesii obviously... :)

I stand corrected, maybe he does have two massive longspine plants! It's certainly a fast grower so not so surprising afterall when you think about it :D

Beautiful cuttings you got there. The spines are extremely long on these bridges.

Please propagate that Salvia divinorum plant and spread it around the whole of Australia!

Do you know what clone it is?

teotz wake up to yourself. i hate to be the one to say this AGAIN but how many times do things have to be pounded into your thick scull before you wake up. wake up or shut up

teotz

san p is in NZ for starters, secondly salvia has previously been legal in australia and is already in the country no dout flung to all corners of the continent, it is out in many public gardens so once the laws came in and people destroyed their plants from private collections it still exists in large numbers without people breaking the law.

Stop stressing about Australia's need for it, we don't need it but it's already here!

gerbil teotz has been told this before specifically. anyway it'd be obvious to anyone who can read & doesn't have a serious mental problem. i don't mean to start this BS again but sometimes when you're having a shitty day & you just want to come onto the forums for some reasonably intelligent sharing of info & you read that ^ for the umteenth time from the same person it tends to grate at you a bit & add to that general feeling that most of humanity is totally fucked in the head. usually i don't like to be insulting but it's my subjective opinion that teotz MAY just be too stupid to be insulted. or maybe i could insult shim today & tomorrow s/he would have completely forgotten that i ever did it. or maybe it's the fact that i doubt s/he even has the attention span to read & learn anything let alone an insulting forum post.

*sigh* the needle that broke the horses back & all...

yeah i know man :) I've read it too many times myself to the point of not having any more hair to pull lol

Completely understand your feelings and must say i've felt very similar if not the same, just thought i would try and explain it a bit further to be productive in some sense as this forum cops a heap of shit for being negative towards people which i find quite frustrating that people think that when people have to deal with the same situations over and over.

One of my reasons to post was to be sure that I know in my mind i've explained it so when things get brought up again I don't have to search and see if it's been explained before and know for sure that i've tried my best to steer things in a positive direction, even if my post was frustrated and quite dry lol

Anyway i'm with you as well on not meaning to start this bs again so it would probably be good if no other people continue posting about this issue in this thread since it's been explained and teotz can take notice of it without it spiraling into a thread about how people get frustrated with the posts.

Personally i think your post was quite justified even though it was blunt hehe After a while i don't see how the issue can be brought up without cracking it.

cheers for the explaination mate :)

Anyhoo sorry for the sidetrack san p, back to z cactus :)
