Question

Hey guys,

I was having a smoke while waiting for my girlfriend to pee at a servo today and stumbled upon this large mature cactus. I thought it could be t. pach. except the spines are a little lacking... almost non existent.

It looks like it's had pieces cut off already, and there is a large branch (like 2m * 10cm) that is all but broken off near the base just begging to be removed...

Thank you in advance :)

Hi Psili, thats Cereus peruvianus. They differ from T. pachanoi mostly in the distinct thin ribs whereas pach have really thick ones. When cut pach have very wide and sort of fat points on the 'stars' (the cross section of the branches) whereas the cereus have very thin and rather long points, if that makes sense :)
