Pixel Posted July 6, 2008 I was really bored on this afternoon. so I went over to the local park with my camera, i thought there may be a few LBM's to take photos of... then to my wonderful surprise the whole place is covered in fungus! big ones, small ones, round ones, flat ones, kids who climb on rocks. (Simpsons quote ) bulk kudos for the one who identifies the most ;) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. these mushrooms where everywhere! 8. 9. wow! these shone bright gold in the sun. 10. a family of little beauty's 11. 12. This is my favourite! It was so cool, this guy was bright yellow! and had tiny little bugs crawling on the top. the surface was sticky and smelled sweet. nature is so diverse. 13. is this a shroom?! next pic is what makes me so sure... 14. blue underneath? and when i poked it to turn it over, it bruised straight away. 15. i was seriously going to take a bite of this one, i swear it was a field mushroom. please tell me i'm wrong. 16. 17. 18. this one was about the size of my hand, and as round as a saucer. Undergrounder Posted July 6, 2008 My guess: 1 - 2. Psathyrella or Panaeolus 3. 4. kind of Polypore 5. Crepidotus nephrodes 6. Psathyrella 7 - 8. Dermocybe or Cortinarius 9. 10 - 11. Mycena or Marasmius (?) 12. Bolbitius vitellinus 13 - 14. Very pretty blue gills! Not sure. 15. Agaricus or Tricholoma - Lucky you didn't eat it, many are poisonous. Key to IDing within Agaricus species is in bruising colour and smell. Nearby trees and spore print colour would rule in/out Tricholoma/Tricholompsis 16. 17. 18. Xerula australis (?) Edit: Actually gill colour is wrong.. not sure. If you're serious about getting IDs you need to include spore print colour, gill attachment, gill colour (where not shown) and habitat (particularly what trees it was growing under), bruising, smell.. for starters. It's almost impossible to ID mushrooms from photos alone, other than the more common and distinctive ones. But good photos man, im patricularly interested in what 13-14 and 18 are if you can give more info or if anyone else can tell from the photo.
