Found in backgarden of my friends house. is this a Inky Cap Fungus Coprinus astramentarius?
-
ok sure! you can have the one i keep in my pocket...
-
an excellent metaphor, very wise. thanks for that
-
thats what i was thinking too.

on the contrary to the above comment, i believe this to be an amanita farinacea but in the book it also states that... "in many characters this species [the A.Ananaeceps] is similar to Amanita farincea but is less variable in size and is grey instead of white." so i might be wrong.

These are edible, but it says in my field guide "avoid consuming Coprinus with alcohol" why is this?
-
thanks for the ID guys. much appreciated
-
ok i got the spore prints back...
-
thanks for sharing pics where abouts are you? which suburb/area?
-
I am taking a spore print now. by the looks of things the spores are a grey-ish beige-y brown colour. but i cant be certain till the spore print is done also to reply one of the above comments, on monday it was wet, then tuesday was dry, then today (wednesday) i awoke to a wet garden. this might explain the spliting...

I was really bored on this afternoon. so I went over to the local park with my camera, i thought there may be a few LBM's to take photos of... then to my wonderful surprise the whole place is covered in fungus! big ones, small ones, round ones, flat ones, kids who climb on rocks. (Simpsons quote ) bulk kudos for the one who identifies the most ;) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. these mushrooms where everywhere! 8. 9. wow! these shone bright gold in the sun. 10. a family of little beauty's 11. 12. This is my favourite! It was so cool, this guy was bright yellow! and had tiny little bugs crawling on the top. the surface was sticky and smelled sweet. nature is so diverse. 13. is this a shroom?! next pic is what makes me so sure... 14. blue underneath? and when i poked it to turn it over, it bruised straight away. 15. i was seriously going to take a bite of this one, i swear it was a field mushroom. please tell me i'm wrong. 16. 17. 18. this one was about the size of my hand, and as round as a saucer.
