planthelper Posted June 30, 2008 thats how old poppy heads look like, that bluish color, i think is caused by a leftover of the wax which coats the pods. younger pods are always coated in a wax coat, and the older the pods gets the more it dissapears again. this particular pod was probably a bit younger than the others when dried out, nothing to worry about. but all this pods are quite old, and allthough many people use old pods, i guess that fresh is the best.
