Acacia ID please!

Question

Hello -

Anyone have any idea what Acacia this is??

My mate has recently bought a new place out near Picton - south-west Sydney near the river which has a few of these growing on it and was wondering what they were. My answer of "Wattle" wasn't particularly helpful apparently, so I am posting it here for older and wiser heads to advise accordinlgy...

Cheers!

J.

Looks like A.longifolia: sharp tips to leaves, smooth edges to leaves (ok phyllodes whatever), flowers growing on stalks, flowering in winter.

A-ha! The only "wattle" species I could name at the beginning of this year... Should have thrown that one out as a matter of course and pretended I was an expert...

Thanks!
