Rudd is asking 1000 selected australians to enter parliament in ten separate groups and thrash out ten major issues such to help with policymaking for the next 12 years.

i'm not sure if it's mentioned in those articles, but he is also asking ANY australians to make written submissions.

this is pretty sweet IMO, actually asking the country what it thinks. fuckface downer's response was 'i actually find it funny, kevin rudd is the PM he shouldn't be asking what to do next, he should know what to do' what a tosser eh? but we already knew that.

so yeah, i would urge you all not to be shy, if you think you can actually contribute then when the opportunity arises do so!

I think its great. Of course, the Murdoch press is making out as if Rudd has no ideas and needs to ask the nation what to thinks. I still say that's better than simply asking Quadrant contributors what the governments agenda should be :rolleyes:

they have said they don't want to just use 'the usual suspects' and they want a broad cross-section blah blah blah
