Vertmorpheus Posted October 24, 2007 Makes sense, I tend to get feral corn stalks popping up all over the place after a bit of stray rain. Noticed a lot of em get nailed by ducks really quickly, so I had a nibble ... tasty! Almost sickeningly sweet...ate a bit of raw sugarcane as a kid up north and it's not too far off, to the taste buds, and has to be more easily crushed. Might be more of a bastard to actually harvest though. Did a bit of looking around once and found a hillbilly beer recipe using cornstalks for sugar and molasses for tang, with rosemary or something like that for bitters... have to look around for it. Goon goes faster VM
devance Posted October 26, 2007 ^The people in the U.S. have cheap food. But the food prices are going up, very rapidly. Corn grain in the ethanol gas tank is a foolish environmental mistake. Raises food prices as meat.
kadakuda Posted November 4, 2007 isn't corn as a fuel source rather in efficient? seems a lot of energy and land would go into it for the amount produced....and price. surely there is better?
