tonic Posted September 17, 2007 (edited) Graft TBM Ario Caespitosa Inside the dungeon The new greenhouse [dungeon], looks different now as I added a bench to the closest side today. I ran out of room in there already!! Edited September 17, 2007 by Phosphene_Dream
Ace Posted September 17, 2007 (edited) Very nice mate Love the makeshift greenhouse!! Quite ingenious actually - is it just a bunch of sliding doors joined together? Hmm, might have to raid the local tip for some building materials... Any chance of a close up on your taller ones? Your TBMs are quite nice! So are the bridgies Thanx for sharing! EDIT: Writing before reading makes for a silly looking Ace A beautiful ario! (not succulent that ace had mis-ID'ed even with a label above it...) tonic Posted September 17, 2007 (edited) Whaddya mean makeshift!!! LOL That's my greenhouse [dungeon]!!! LOL Pretty much all recycled materials, cost me around $50 so far [as opposed to similiar sized ones I have been looking at, $5000+]. Yeah just recycled sliding doors from under my house actually, nice strong glass, tough against the elements. Will put some more pics of it up soon. Am adding a few more pics just for you Ace LOL, I have quite a few TBMs now and most of my columns are bridgesioids, I mainly collect forms of T. bridgesii, Lophophora spp. Astrophytum spp. & getting into Ariocarpus spp. now, though I have heaps of other cacti too, that greenhouse is packed. Still room for more though Super Pedro, Psycho0 & a spach Bridgesioids Edited October 25, 2007 by Phosphene_Dream
KanJe Posted September 17, 2007 I'm impressed PD, I love your idea with the grean hous1 as I am in the process of trying to find a cheap option for a glass house too. I'm curious, how long have you been collecting for?
Infinitee Posted September 17, 2007 Thanks Phosphenitee, both the greenhouse and the cacti contained within are both wonderful and beautiful (got to love that sliding-door sheen!). Your collection impresses even me, and i'm not easily impressed! Wow! A moving car! But seriously though dude, love the imagery.
tonic Posted September 17, 2007 Thanks KanJe, I started collecting back around early 2003, though alot of the collection grew over the last year. I lost interest for a while and was just happy growing my San Pedro, TBM, and loph graft [not pictured], then I realised it was wgat I really wanted to do and resumed collecting again. The sliding door is a viable option if you can score some cheap or free. I just drilled holes in the aluminium frame and bolted it to the frame of the house. I will post some more detailed pics of the construction in a different thread soon. Infinitee thanks mate, it's an ever growing thing this collection. You should have seen how filthy those doors were LOL, couldn't even seen throught them. A moving car!!! Now that IS novel.

tonic Posted September 17, 2007 The main problem I get is not knowing where to step. I fixed that up a bit today though. Am sure that space will be filled pretty quickly.
