good luck mate!, I went crazy on mine for two weeks then had to return to work. in the last 2 months all I've done is paint it in an attempt to protect it from the weather.

I will start on it again soon. just need some more money.

do you have a particular design in mind?

Cheers

Very cool. I saw the result of the branch coming thru the roof of your old g/house - man, that would have been utterly devistating to see :(

Hope the new one goes well, and I'd love to see plans and stuff as you plod along thru the process. Lets hope them beautiful cacti get a roof over their heads before they freeze!

Nice one Osprey. I remember Rimbaud the Great showing me his set up (as suggested by Darcy)...

Here's a quote from (HIS) thread,

You just fold down some weed mat on the ground, bang in some star posts as far as you can with a star-post driver thingie, then buy some rural-grade polypipe and bend them in pairs over the posts to make the dome. Then chuck some bunnings shadecloth over it (50% light penetration) and secure tightly... and bam! you have a useful thingamajig for when summer comes around, or if you have massive possum and rat problems, like i do.

I hope this is of some use to you.

Well, here's an update,

cacti in the rain.

I got the bed backfilled and planted alot of very nice clones.

Some pictures show the view from future windows

You can see the retaining wall I built.

The plantings are "permanent', so I am trying to give them enough space to grow big.

Wow Osprey, I'm really impressed.

I wish I could just build my own greenhouse of that quality.

Do you plan to extend the frame over the cactus in the images or just pcik it up and move it when its ready?

Hi Watertrade,

I will take some pictures tomorrow.

I have been starting to get ready for the growing season.

My cacti are going to really kick ass(growthwise)this year!
