Question

just found on a walk an hour ago...looks promising to me, what do u think?

iam printing a tiny cap too, do all caps have spores or only mature ones?

All caps have spores. And mature just means the cap is completely open, nothing to do with size. :wink:

Where did you find these growing? What were the conditions? Not enough info to be sure at the moment but the print should help things out.

Rusty brown spores are a real good indication of what not to eat. See the brown stains on the stem?... Throw these away.

Agreeing with FF, hard to be sure but I'd say not subs.

The photos are good enough and there's no evidence of bluing whatsoever.

Also, the cap shape on really young pins looks a little flat, and the colour a fraction dark.

More info on environment etc. would be helpful, but I'd say no good.

yeah spores were brown... :angry:

found some other suspects but there bottoms are red!!?

the habitat of these particular ones was disturbed gum bush that is also rife with small (native?) pines and clay/sand soil...

i will keep on looking as i always do and hopefully my mis-finds can serve as common look alikes.
