Auxin Posted February 17, 2007 Aint it always the way... I finally got this plant from a group of ethnobotanists that collected it in northern brazil, figured I'd add a new species to the community, I poked around google for new research- lo and behold herbalistics is stocking it now (If seed production goes good Oz should get a fresh strain of this to test for activity some time in the latter half of this year) Its routinely listed as an ayahuasca admixture but as far as I can tell there is no evidence of psychoactivity. It does, however, have multiple medicinal activities. My pet hypothesis is that it might be included in ayahuasca for its pain-killing, anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic, or digestive properties. Anyway... are there any bioassays of this? Particularly alone or in combination with ayahuasca or other psychoactive substances.
