parzival Posted November 27, 2006 It's a tiny bridgesii cutting 1 1/2 inches tall by 2 inches wide at the base. Its been cut for about three weeks now, its fairly soft but not too soft, and it has a nice callous. I just don't have time to get myself out to my regular garden centre to buy much needed, though basic, materials. Probably another week or so till i can. Is there any lasting damage that can be incurred by leaving such a small cutting for this amount of time?
toby Posted November 27, 2006 [should be fine, very small cutting though!
Jagger Posted November 28, 2006 I've had some T. pachanoi cuttings from 1 inch to half a foot sitting in a tray waiting to be planted for about 8 months now. The smallest one reciently developed some rot and died but the rest are pretty good. Since it is the start of the growth season most have developed roots into the air. Time to do something with them I think.
Benzito Posted November 28, 2006 Another few weeks won't hurt! Just keep it somewhere dry and well-aired.
planthelper Posted November 28, 2006 i think that up to 6 week is still ok, but if you don't root them for a very long time many of them will fail, or the results will be dissapointing. 3 or 4 weeks is a good time, dependin aswell on your local conditions.
