DazedSol Posted November 9, 2002 I have two questions.....question one...pertaining to datura: Will seed pods that havent opened up even after the plant starts to die off(its about to be winter here)contain viable seed? I usually wait until the pod opens up on its own before i collect seed from it......but thought i would ask...... Question two is pertaining to the use of qat(catha)....anyone ever smoke the leaves? Will this produce an effect? or are the active constitutes too unstable? Thanks for any input..... -peace

spikey Posted November 9, 2002 well from my exprience if it's starting to die off (and not cause of winter or somthing like that) then it should open up soon and the seeds inside are already viable.... about the catha u can smoke it, youll get results but not as much with chewing it cause the main subtance is cathonine which is very unstable and decomposes in high temprature (it decomposes from dead leaves in about 48 hours)
Torsten Posted November 10, 2002 even white, totally immature datura seed seems to be viable.
