Erliquin Posted September 5, 2002 Vin, I got your email but my reply bounced -- again. You can email me your postie addy as is, I can send the poppy seed this Monday or set-up a hushmail addy, it's free as hush to hush seems to work best. One thing that is good about it is that it pgp's. Without, your email is a post card for anyone to read. Cya Erl. Ps. As a side note, any not sure about pgp and it can be used manually in boards, emails ect here's a walk through I wrote some time back... *************************************************** Go to... http://www.pgpi.org/products/pgp/versions/freeware/ ...and download the version you need for the type of operating system you're on. For most people that will be PGP 7.0.3 Now I'm going to walk you through this step by step and it is easy. Here is how to do PGP the easy way. You might want to print this off so you can follow it step by step. 1.) Install PGP. 2.) Go to the task bar. That's located at the bottom right of your screen. 3.) Click on the PGP icon. If you can't get it there, than go to START ---> PROGRAM FILES ----> PGP 4.) Click on PGP Keys 5.) Click on Keys 6.) Click on New Key 7.) Give yourself the same name as you've got at hushmail. 8.) Put in an email address, your hushmail address will be cool. 9.) Think of a passphrase, it could be the lyrics from a song you like. The longer the passphrase, the better the security. Never forget this passphase so lock it in your head only and NEVER tell anyone it. Not even me. 9.) Click through to finish and let it automatically generate you a key. 10.) You now have a NEW KEY. Good stuff. ;-) 11.) Right click this key and chose COPY 12.) Now Paste it into reply to this email. You have now completed the task of creating secure communication to me. Let's move on to what to do with the public key I have given you. 1.) You are to copy this key. Just run the mouse over it so it all blacks up and chose copy. 2.) Click on the PGP task bar icon 3.) Click on PGP Keys 4.) In the screen of PGP Keys, simply right click mouse in the box that contains your key and go Paste. 5.) A screen will appear with my public key in it. Now hit on IMPORT. 6.) You now have my public key in your set of keys as you imported it in. Sweet. Let's move on to you wanting to encrypt some text with my public key and emailing me it. 1.) You write your email as you normally do in word. 2.) When you've written up the text you copy with the mouse, yes black up the text... 3.) You then click on the PGP task bar icon and go to CLIP BOARD 5.) Go to EDIT 6.) You will see what you wrote in the clipboard 7.) Click COPY TO CLIP BOARD (I know it's on the clip board and you could piss this step off, but for sake of 100% accuracy, do what I'm saying) 8.) Now click back on the PGP task bar icon 9.) Go to PGP TOOLS 10.) I want you to look at that rectangle screen of options that will appear and familiarize yourself with them but click on nothing just yet, just run your mouse over the top and read what each button says to get familar with the icons. 11.) Now I want you to click on the ENCRYPT button. 12.) Now click on CLIP BOARD 13.) A screen called PGP Tools = Key Selection Dialog will appear 14.) You are to drag my public key down to the bottom pane. 15.) Highlight my key 16. ) Hit OK. 17.) Now go back to the PGP task bar icon 18.) Click on CLIP BOARD 19.) Click on EDIT 20.) And you will see the text is encrypted by my key. 21.) Copy/paste that into the email and send to me. Done. Let's move on to when I send you encrypted text based on the public key that you're yet to send me. 1.) An email from me comes in all encrypted and looks like a heap of gibberish. 2.) Just right click and chose SELECT ALL 3.) Chose COPY 4.) Go to the PGP task bar icon 5.) Go to CLIP BOARD 6.) Click on EDIT 7.) You will see the clip board is now full of that gibberish 8.) Go to the PGP task bar icon 9.) Click on PGP TOOLS 10.) Chose Decrypt/Verify 11.) Enter the passphrase for your private key 12.) A text screen will appear with that gibberish now converted to English. Done. So from now on, you use my key to make encrypted emails to me and I will do the same to you when you send me your public key. Note. If you want to be able to reverse the encrypted text, you must use your key and my key. -----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- Version: PGPfreeware 7.0.3 for non-commercial use mQGiBD125dcRBADtqrVjwMXI/LtDCP4RAYTKut2SUPLIiJu2L+RrUBzmQi7Oqfiw nhFgY5H3eAsjaCGiOuxRlb5/mg8smFSEUwH0INIwke6qAi2daFV2FDnq8iu61ORJ +68f71+G3TxtX6z4r835I9Bu3GctR7WOPdu7/RJHIl/7Lo6S2zjZ6kC4kwCg/3AC pK1VxPsnV13ULZ1HyzQTj7sEAIQ+VynQ5HAhjgxmUQkKvUT8HPHPfXhWZIQ5kpoj R68Zlla0++qvHfeerSUdSW/e3HJkdIjOI7tHmLN1xxVjtJlybzRSteqsAo+11L0l NpbIg0pGTs5Xxk6vcpL3mLqARP5mQCtrzs6toSlwJWNbZ6xTTgrJHvUHurwJ3iuU B4CXA/923d31J8uwXyR2vQ4NipiVes0MCwtc0k2FK4wJcz13ADghWCIKNYceTzLb FBQO8Gi3CRBfKBKs3WkcXvI6ibStGvClL71QDCrFdhoAiklup6HxyLh1cY08hYHZ tRsaYsH3olbjrL8eWRZ0Y90tfcXW+37iPn69eSIKuH8/aEK5M7Q4U2hhbWFuQm90 YW5pY2FscyA8U2hhbWFuQm90YW5pY2Fsc0BTaGFtYW5Cb3RhbmljYWxzLmNvbT6J AFgEEBECABgFAj125dcICwMJCAcCAQoCGQEFGwMAAAAACgkQb34h9KbGe4+ZEACg j6kJ0M+Sz/sZ3EowT1kt778god4An19EV7f43qjlFCU28BQnUNvIHcjNuQINBD12 5dcQCAD2Qle3CH8IF3KiutapQvMF6PlTETlPtvFuuUs4INoBp1ajFOmPQFXz0AfG y0OplK33TGSGSfgMg71l6RfUodNQ+PVZX9x2Uk89PY3bzpnhV5JZzf24rnRPxfx2 vIPFRzBhznzJZv8V+bv9kV7HAarTW56NoKVyOtQa8L9GAFgr5fSI/VhOSdvNILSd 5JEHNmszbDgNRR0PfIizHHxbLY7288kjwEPwpVsYjY67VYy4XTjTNP18F1dDox0Y bN4zISy1Kv884bEpQBgRjXyEpwpy1obEAxnIByl6ypUM2Zafq9AKUJsCRtMIPWak XUGfnHy9iUsiGSa6q6Jew1XpMgs7AAICCADuLtKNznPDPzln9qLK6TlIjn2z0IEa 7Mh6lztDNrZwmstEZYxmds8SXSiYhCJiVcgs4rToaP+xVF5SoQgbjPt9OnNPm7Jz NyppxxX8PraxdQKS3aikk+SBrLy7nYxhIUx4RJduxlGepkAgCOQ9cnVMKLyjpBRW Aoo69rmxT2H3x8Rw5JsvAvII+Ylz4mPaRkKx15wKEwjsFKFAxMm54MvJ8xERMj60 NWzS83HLhHg1dIaEPcbvyke6RWp1LtvrL3Ln5qBaK5aZRI2Oj9kZ5vISUkOYJMsd mbZOe/K9SW+6VSXANZuUZELjfsJ0FAI3CCD2nssZHlKLQY9dv8CHKbaEiQBMBBgR AgAMBQI9duXXBRsMAAAAAAoJEG9+IfSmxnuPVRIAoOwpA5IYsWmvGw9WDFAcxD0T dIGoAJ9KnF81ONehhCpzpZZD07tDLT0ojw== =k/Hv -----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- Above is just an example of a public key I made to demonstrate what a public key will look like when posted as text. waterdragon Posted September 21, 2002 vins -been meaning to ask, what is this 'oelette?' strain? does oelette have an english translation?
VINS Posted September 24, 2002 i surched in my books but the result was a more big unknowledge. they are saying: opium poppy is papaver-setigerum. i think they are wrong pium poppy is papaver-somniferum. what they say about "oeillette" is the common description of a white-purple somniferum strain. i think it's called "oeillette" because it look like a flower called "oeillet" (Dianthus-caryophyllacées). ----------- do you know the difference between somniferum, bractetum, setigerum ? i am confuse because of the books!!!
