DuG Posted July 5, 2006 I only just found this thread, wow. I may have found some other species of psyb. in my searches. Although i have had my fair share of hunting i haven't had any experince with detailed identification. What do i look for to tell the different species strains apart? i take it that growing on dung is one difference, but what are means of field identification can i use? spiders Posted July 6, 2006 This mushroom looks like Ps.semilanceata so looks very different from suaberuginosa - its got a thinner stem, witch-hat shaped cap and would only stain blue at eh base. Although this might vary fro, location to location but the species fruited in kangeroo manure.
spiders Posted July 8, 2006 that link no longer works - you can access the html file but the pics dont work. The mushroom looks very similar to semilanceata.
