Salvia Glutinosa

Recommended Posts

Hey all

This salvia is not mentioned anywhere on the web as an psychoactive salvia, but it actually contains 11 triterpenoids which could prove interesting. Do any of you have access to the phytochemistry journal listed here?

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.f...9&dopt=Abstract

Thanks

Ashoka

… or maybe it doesn't.

But Cholesterol and that Salvia molecule that they found look similar - damn similar, just a hydroxy, a double bonded oxygen and an ethyl group. I passed some time making some pictures for ye all. Black is Cholesterol, Red is that Salvia molecule that I couldn't be bothered finding the name for.

I overlayed the Salvia molecule over the Cholesterol molecule in the 2nd picture (or the 1st picture in the middle row), and put them side by side in the 3rd picture (or the 2nd picture in the middle row). Yay. 10 dollars says the HTML stuffs.

Oh, what a guess !

SLIGHTLY off topic:

Does anyone have any information about salvia mexicana?

I've got a specimen growing and it's going to seed...

could it be psychoactive?
