In my opinion psychadelics give perspective and its how you decipher that percpective thats important. Regarding if drugs and intelligence have some connection, from what i have read, new neural pathways are made every time we experience something new. The more we experience that new stimulus the stronger the pathway becomes. So I suppose if the new pathway created through a particular drugs use, is of use, then you have become more intelligent. I can imagine it gets scrambled sometimes though.

Aliens, Nuclear weapons and take overs

Got carried away..... qualia, Agreed regarding our government. WTF! When was the last time they did something that you agreed with and where proud of, personally its been a while!? Your comment about distances and chances of inteligent life also made me think. You mentioned a minimal chance. If I where making a bet on inteligent life existing with the odds being minimal:infinite. I would make that bet! :D LUWA, I love this "If we've evolved to be able dream, to have become biological computers. Then what the hell else is capable of existence in this universe..." Keep talking, its not shit. kalika, I truly hope we are seen in the way you describe, i wish it. Nuclear power is a scary thought for me. The possible outcomes do not outway the immediate needs in my opinion. Your location says Germany, didnt they recently decommision there power plants? Hehe I did say it was a far out idea. I obviously think slightly of centre, as It was more of the idea that humans have the potential to end not only themselves but pretty much every living thing on the planet. I dont know literally how much damage could be done, but maybe even further to the point of breaking the planet itself. This fact could possibly be a deterent from invasion in itself. Now that I think about it, Its more likely that we would not be contacted by intelligent life for that exact same reason. Our destructive nature as a species would be enough to make me want to back the ship up, so a more developed race would surely just fly on by. The original thought was like a bully trying to take a smaller kids lunch, but this particular lunch happens to be able to feed all the bullys friends and family for the next million years and there are only a few of these particular hospitable lunches (planets) around. So the smaller kid threatens to spit on it and throw it on the ground( ie Destroy the planet) in an attempt to keep his lunch. Would the bully back away or wait for another day? I wish the thought had more substance or logic to it, but thats what it was. Holy crap, thats alota words. -
Hey Roopey, can definately understand your love of Tool and Shpongle. Big fan also. Have you heard of a band called Baroness? Red album is my favourite. Old Melvins stuff is pretty good and for raw rock, Iggy and the Stooges. I did write a big rant about how we let music effect us as apposed to it finding and controlling us to the point of destruction, but then remembered how Acid Jazz and Frank Zappa(I know this may offend some) irritate me so much it transmografies me into even greater a prick to be around. Point proven! :D Peace!

How significant is the order of songs on an album
PsillyBean replied to Zen Peddler's topic in Chill Space
I would probably listen to my favourite album and figure out what helped make it so good in terms of track choice. Just a thought :D
