Sounds like in for some fun/annoying/interesting times then! Darklight, Aren't mastiff usually really big dogs? I don't think I really have the room for a big dog such as that but thanks for the tips on the puppy school and training, any idea how much puppy school costs?

Maya's beautiful! Thankfully with 3 of us sharing the place and me being at uni there's usually only small portions of time where he/she would be left alone so I'm hoping with some toys and what not that should keep them busy. Don't really mind him/her digging things up (too much!) just don't want to come home and find its OD'd on something or a walking pin cushion for cacti spines! SallyD; sounds like you have a lot of trouble with your dog (how is not dead eating up all yours brugs/datura!) any idea why this is? Has it been trained or do you think it comes down to the breed of the dog? (I know kelpies and cattledogs and shit have HUGE amounts of energy to burn) Any suggestions on other good dog breeds (other than staffy's or bulldogs) for small to medium yards?

Good to see coopers and little creatures getting the props they deserve, my 2 favourite brewers by a long shot!!

I'm looking forward to having a go growing some seed generously given away by a member here. All these beautiful photos and stories have me excited!

I don't shit in public toilets (never really have for some reason) but I quite regularly forget/get lazy about washing my hands after taking a piss.

Stumbled across this on newscientist.com the other day, some researchers are using living plants as tactile sensors to allow us to interact with electronic devices and what not. The video explains it a hell of lot better than I ever could so I won't bother trying. Interesting to see the researches also try using some pretty spiny cacti too, can't imagine they'd be suitable touch sensors though,

Imagine a band where the bass player and guitarist(s) were playing big logs of scop or something along those lines, EPIC!

I like the square shaped bridgesii, kinda ugly little four ribbed thing but its got character!
-
I'd do seriously deprave things to get to ozora festival haha. My ultimate thing to do before I die.
-
I was thinking the same along the same lines as ballzac with the last being a bridgesii of some sort.

Trichocereus grandiflorus maybe?
lhb2444 replied to Stillman's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
Either way its a beautiful piece of cactus! -
Picked up 2 nice finds this morning at the addison road markets in marrickville. I think the first one is most likely a Notocatcus magnificus however the second I have no idea about. This is the first Gymnocalycium I've owned and I haven't been able to find anything to similar looking online so let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

I repotted some pachypodium I bought the other day and found these little offshoots growing. I've currently just got them sitting in some coarse river sand so whats my best bet these little fella's?

Just wondering how many of you here keep all of your cacti outdoors over winter. I've seen a lot of pictures on here of members hot houses and what not but obviously not everyone has the luxury of one, I've only got a few cacti that I know of that aren't to water friendly (a few gymno's and some ferocactus etc) and I've always just kept them outdoors but over winter their soil never really gets to dry out its always a little damp. It's a well draining soil mix so its never drowning but I'm just wondering whether I should find some sort of shelter to keep them dry during the rainy months? What does everyone else do?

Just bought this epically fat scop, pretty happy right now

Definitely the fattest cutting I've ever bought.
