    Seed sowing

Hey everyone, Just sowed some seed generously gifted to me from members on here (takeaway tek) and I'm wondering whether I should be placing the containers under fluro's or on a window sill receiving filtered light, which I kinda don't have any. Also the seeds are T. scop x pach, L. williamsii, Juuls x T. BBG, J3 x Psycho0, T. spach, P. azureus, T. puquiensis x huarensis, T. huarensis x puquiensis and Datura metel var. fastuosa. I'm just wary as to whether I'm giving them way to much light at the moment, I can raise the light if thats the case or put some shade cloth/plastic over the containers. So any suggestions or is it all looking good?

    Seed sowing

Thanks for the advice Khala, I don't really have any suitable window sills though unfortunately due to living in a terrace house and the only sill receiving suitable light being the bathroom, which is to small to rest the containers on. Anyone know what sort of day/night cycle I should be using for the lights? 12/12, 14/10? Just noticed this is my 200th post, Yewww!
  5. Potting up some named trich clones and other trichs today. Let the good times grow!! (From left; Eileen, T. macro, T. macro, Yowie, T. scop, Psycho0 and Yowie) Still got a few more of the to go but am running out of pots and sand unfortunately.

    New babies

http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=33286 They are stated to be a mix of san pedro and blue peruvianus x pedro. There's some pictures of the parents in the link too. And spacemonk I'm super excited to watch them change over time, they all look quite different to one another know so it'll be interesting to see how they progress.

    New babies

Hey EG, Thanks for the heaps up regarding the yellowing, I thought they may just been a bit variegated as these were all bought from a bulk seed sowing around 2 years ago (from what I can gather form the original sale post anyway) I did fertilize them (half strength seasol) to water them in which was just before this photo was taken as I had just potted them up. The soil is not actually what you see on the top of the pots there either, that's just store bought cactus soil to keep the perlite from floating to the top. The soil is a mix of 2 parts store bought cactus soil, 1 part coarse river sand and 1 part perlite. I use this on all my cacti and haven't had any problems with rot so far but I'm all ears to any suggestions you may have if you think I could better it.

    Ethnobotanicals & dogs

Well Luca appears to have fit in well, no fatal consumption of anything and no serious spineage luckily, he is currently asleep on a small hylocereus though and loves playing in amongst a Euphorbia tirucalli which has some pretty nasty sap, he's also nibbled a few spach's and bumped into his fair share of prickly pear but all I'm over the moon with how quickly he's adapted to a yard full of painful plants.

BF has a standard postie unfortunately, as an employee of australia post I see how careless they are with everything (at least here in Sydney anyway) so I would always advise over packaging your parcels as much as possible.
