    Loph seedlings

Hello all, I've got some loph seedlings that are about 4 months old now and are coming along well (they've been under fluros) I'm going to try a few grafts onto pereskiopsis but ive only got enough peres for about half the seedlings so I'm thinking i'll plant the rest out individually and let them do their thing. So my question is should I leave the ones to planted out for a while longer in their current environment under the lights or should i repot them into some a better soil mixture and leave them in a more permanent position on a nice warm window sill? (most of them are about 5mm across) If I do report them whats a good soil mixture for lophs? For my trichs and things I use roughly 50/50 good quality cactus soil and perlite with a little organic matter thrown in but I know trichs are much less prone to rot than lophs. Would this mix be suffice if I'm only watering once they've dried out? Sorry for the poor quality pictures.

    Loph seedlings

So I've finally potted up my loph seedlings after living through the moss and what not they don't appear to be in to bad condition. Fingers crossed some suitable soil, a terracotta pot and a warm windowsill should keep them happy.

    My garden

Tripsis I think the bug has bitten hard! thanks for compliments though guys I've come realize its very much a game of patience to achieve an epic cactus/entho garden like some of the ones i've seen on here. And bogfrog thats an Echinopsis 'Haku Joe' I bought upon recommendation from my local nursery, thanks LophtyTricho!!

    My garden

Yeah I'm super happy with how its coming along, it was only a year ago I bought my first cacti (the 4 fatter/pupping cuttings of pedro) which certainly gave me the cacti bug

    A Doof Not To Miss!!

Yawning man I think I can comfortably say that VIC is well and truly where it's at for the Aussie doof scene (contemplates moving to vic and all the doofing goodness that goes on down south) hahaha Nevertheless Australia certainly has a healthy doof scene and plenty of local talent that keeps it interesting!

    Loph seedlings

Thanks heaps for the replies. I was a little tipsy when planting them and super excited I received my loph seeds so just put some in what I soil I had about. Thankfully my peres is pretty well good to go for some grafts so I will trying my hand at that in the next few days. There will be a few seedlings left over though so I think i'll do as Eg has suggested and give them a good mineralic soil and transfer them to a warm fairly sunny window. I also think I'll take a different approach to planting out the rest of the seed

    WTB: Dragon Fruit Cutting/Seeds

Hey bro, I can help you out with some dragon fruit cuttings.
  15. Hey hey, I need to repot a golden barrel cactus I've bought that has 2 heads and I'm hoping to split them into 2 and am wondering whats the best way to go about doing this? Should i carefully try to slice through the divide between them or gently try to pry them apart?

    PS3 wireless lag

I had similar problems streaming movies from a networked hard drive through my wireless router (which was only 1 room away from my ps3 and the router was supporting 2 other PC's) and tried most of things stated above. Updated the router and still got skips, tried changing various settings on my ps3 with no success and finally ended up running a cable which solved the problem for all of one day until my ps3 died

    Re-potting/splitting golden barrel cacti

Yeah its 2 on the one root system not 2 seperate cacti in the same pot and I've just noticed a 3rd little pup emerging so I think I'll just leave them together and repot them into a larger pot. I've actually got some BBQ tongs like that hanging around in the kitchen so thanks for the advice!

    Re-potting/splitting golden barrel cacti

Sounds good, now the question is how do I gently hold this spiny little sucker whilst prying apart? haha, me thinks some thick gloves might be the go!

    Start growing now

I planted out some loph seeds in a little plastic container in my shed about 5 or 6 weeks ago and they are going strong, they are under fluro's but without any external heating bar the heat generated by the fluro's which is pretty much nothing. I also moved my potted trichs and cuttings outside just before the heavy rains last weekend and they are all looking pretty good, I noticed a couple had just sprouted some pups to!
  24. Don't much about euphorbia but it looks it, certainly looks like a pretty cool one at that
